Fire pump maintenance involves systematic inspection, testing, and servicing to ensure reliable performance during emergencies. The service includes checking pump casing, impellers, bearings, couplings, seals, and alignment, as well as inspecting suction/discharge piping, valves, and strainers for leaks or blockages. Electrical systems, controllers, and motor insulation are tested, while diesel engine–driven pumps are checked for fuel, lubrication, battery health, and exhaust systems. Pressure gauges, relief valves, and jockey pumps are calibrated to maintain proper system pressure. Finally, the fire pump is test-run under load conditions to verify flow, pressure, and automatic start/stop functionality, with findings recorded in a detailed maintenance report for compliance and safety assurance.
